INDIANAPOLIS -- Welcome to the Grand Canyon.
Some of the frustration Indianapolis residents have over the city's pothole problems has turned into a warning sign on the far west side.
Near the intersection of Bridgeport Road and Rockville Road, a frustrated (and clever) person put up a sign just before all the potholes that reads "Welcome to the Grand Canyon."
Many vehicles Wednesday night heeded the sign, slowing down to not damage their vehicles.
There have been previous repairs but the weather is making it difficult for city crews to keep up.
It's a common area for potholes on Indy's west side.
Another problem we checked out is along Dandy Trail Road over Eagle Creek. You can see rebar on the highly-traveled stretch of road.
The city tells RTV6 that there is a plan to re-position metal plates on the road and fill the potholes.
The plan is to rehab the bridge in 2019 but that will require federal funding. The city believes it will be able to get the financing.
