FARMERSBURG — A man was allegedly intoxicated when he climbed into a doggie door to steal a truck Thursday in Farmersburg.
Sullivan County Sheriff's deputies were called around 2 p.m. to a home on Division Road after a truck was reportedly stolen from a locked garage, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff's office. Deputies were at the home when they received a call regarding a truck driving through a yard. It matched the description of the truck authorities were currently investigating.
Deputies later found the truck, driven by a 55-year-old man, of Farmersburg, according to the post. Deputies noticed the man appeared to be intoxicated and was unsteady while standing. The man had a BAC of .291 percent.
The man allegedly told deputies he climbed through a doggie door to get inside the garage, according to the post.
He was arrested on the suspicion of burglary, auto theft and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, according to the post.
