INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indiana State Police trooper was hospitalized Thursday morning after a crash on Indianapolis' south side.
A representative with the Indiana State Police said there was debris in the eastbound lanes of I-465 near U.S. 31 around 3 a.m. Thursday, and the trooper was blocking lanes to prevent people from driving through it when a car crashed into the trooper's vehicle.
Both the trooper and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to Eskenazi Hospital.
The debris on the road looked to be nuts, bolts and pieces of aluminum.
The other driver is being investigated for OWI, ISP Sgt. John Perrine said.
