INDIANAPOLIS -- The $27-million IndyGo Transit Center is less than a year old, but it’s already in need of repairs.

Some of the bricks in the walkway are unsecure, and the ground will click and clack as people walk on it.

“I’ve noticed the bricks, but I ignored the situation,” Eric Alexander, an IndyGo passenger, said. “If it was able to come and trip somebody up, it definitely is a safety hazard."

There are cones and signs across the area to warn people of the walkway.

The Julia M. Carson Transit Center opened in June 2016.

IndyGo is working with the center’s original contractors, the Weddle Brothers Building Group.

An IndyGo spokesperson said there was “faulty installation” when installing the bricks. It will be at no cost to IndyGo, he said.

The repair project is expected to take until the end of the summer since the terminal is in constant use now.
