Man charged in Jackson County murder dies week after being found unconscious in jail

JACKSON COUNTY — A man charged with the murder of 28-year-old Seymour man died Sunday, a week after he was found unconscious in jail.

Jackson County Jail officers found Tobias Au, 30, unconscious and not breathing on May 10, Sheriff Rick Meyer said in a press release. He was taken to Schneck Medial Center in Seymour where he died Sunday.

Indiana State Police detectives are investigating the incident, Meyer said.

Au was arrested on May 6 and charged in connection with the death of Ryan Ross.
