NEW PALESTINE, Ind. -- One man is in custody after leading police on a chase that ended with a crash in New Palestine, Indiana.
The chase began when police were called to a crash near Greenfield, Indiana. The caller reported a pickup truck had flipped end-over-end into a field.
By the time police arrived, the driver was able to get the truck running, and sped away while trying to hit the police cars head-on.
The chase lasted 12 miles and ended near a CVS Pharmacy in New Palestine, where he was arrested. Police identified him as Christian Emmons, 44.
He was taken to Methodist Hospital to be checked out.
Police are still trying to learn why Emmons was running from police and trying to hit them. Police aren't sure if drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident.
No officers or civilians were injured during the chase.
