INDIANAPOLIS -- A motorcyclist died after a crash Tuesday evening on Indianapolis' northeast side.
The crash happened near the intersection of E. 38th Street and Butler Avenue around 8:30 p.m., between a motorcycle and a sedan.
Officers arrived at the scene to find the motorcyclist had been ejected from the vehicle.
Police learned the motorcyclist was driving fast, headed west on 38th Street when it hit the sedan as it was crossing the street.
EMS personnel took the motorcyclist to Eskenazi Health, where he later died.
The driver of the sedan was also taken to Eskenazi for a blood draw, which is standard procedure. Intoxication is not suspected in the incident, but police are still investigating.
The motorcyclist has not been identified.
Police reiterated the need for drivers to me mindful of motorcyclists on the roads.
