CLAY COUNTY, Ind. – One person was shot several times in a vehicle along I-70 Saturday night.
Around 10:30 p.m. Clay County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a person shot inside a vehicle in the eastbound lanes of I-70 near exit 23.
When they arrived, deputies found a white 2000 Chevrolet Impala with four men inside.
The man sitting in the back of the vehicle on the driver’s side had been shot in his lower left leg and had a grazing wound on his lower right leg.
The victim, 23-year-old Dahante Willoughby of Indianapolis was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for treatment.
Indiana State Police believe Willoughby and the three people in the vehicle had driven to Terre Haute for a party when an argument sparked between them and another group of males.
When the group began traveling eastbound on I-70 in an attempt to return to Indianapolis, an unknown vehicle approached and fired three shots into the Impala.
