INDIANAPOLIS -- Almost 18 months after his death, an Indianapolis icon will be honored with a street named in his memory.
The 100 block of St. Joseph Street, between Meridian and Pennsylvania, is about to become Amos Brown Way.
That's the block in front of Radio One Headquarters, where Brown hosted his talk show for almost 12 years, capping a decades-long career that touched the community.
Last May, the City-County Council voted 24-0 (with one absense) to change the name of the street. The council honored his "life, legacy and unrelenting public service" with the resolution.
Brown died in November 2015 at the age of 64.
