INDIANAPOLIS -- One person was killed Thursday morning in a crash on Indianapolis' south side.
The crash happened around 8 a.m., near the intersection of Troy Avenue and Shelby Street.
Police say an SUV, headed south on Shelby Street, ran a red light and hit a van.
The SUV flipped up to six times, ejected three occupants. One of those people died and two others were taken to Eskenazi Health in serious condition.
The driver and passenger of the van were taken to Methodist Hospital.
Witnesses told police the SUV was going fast, and it looked like they were distracted.
The intersection will be closed for several hours.
