INDIANAPOLIS -- One man was killed early Monday morning in a shooting on Indianapolis' north side.
The shooting happened around 5 a.m., near the intersection of Primrose Avenue and 44th Street.
The victim, 32-year-old Jason Byrd, was shot multiple times and found in a driveway of a house he had been visiting. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were people inside the house at the time.

"It's vicious," Candias Scott-Moore, a neighbor who knew the victim, said. "It's sickening. There's nothing else to say. It's horrible. We have to stop this."
When police arrived at the scene, they found a man who was trying to approach them, who then took off. He was apprehended after a chase near the intersection of 43rd Street and Kingsley Drive. The man was taken into custody for resisting arrest, then taken to Eskenazi Health after suffering from a non life-threatening medical episode. Police are still trying to figure out his connection to the shooting, if any.

This was the third shooting of the morning. The first two happened at different parts of the city.
