INDIANAPOLIS -- Police are asking the public for help in finding two suspects in two gas station robberies that happened early Tuesday morning.

The first robbery happened at about 1:30 a.m., at the Shell gas station on the 3000 block of North Illinois Street. Two people walked into the store, wearing masks, and forced open the locked door to the clerk's area. The clerk opened the cash register at one suspect's demand, and the suspects took some money. One suspect hit the clerk in the head with a gun before running away.

The second robbery happened about 30 minutes later at the Conoco gas station on the 4100 block of East 16th Street. The same two people entered the store, wearing the same clothes and masks.

This time, the two people couldn't get the locked door to the clerk's area open. One suspect fired at the bulletproof glass before they ran from the store.

Suspect No. 1 is a black man in his late teens or early 20s. He was wearing a gray zipped-up hoodie, dark sweatpants, a yellow bandana and carried a silver handgun.

Suspect No. 2 is also a black man in his late teens or early 20s. He was wearing a gray zipped hoodie with dark strings, an orange full-face neoprene "hunting-style" mask, dark sweatpants, black tennis shoes with what and black markings and neon yellow soles (possibly PUMA-brand). He was carrying a black handgun.
