INDIANAPOLIS -- Downtown Indianapolis is getting a famous name added to its ever-expanding restaurant scene.

Primanti Brothers is opening its second central Indiana location on Wednesday, at the corner of Illinois and Maryland Streets.

The space previously contained California Pizza Kitchen. This comes after a new Primanti’s at Hamilton Town Center in Noblesville, which opened in May.

The original Primanti Brothers restaurant opened in Pittsburgh back in 1933. That location remains open 83 years later.

The restaurant has become famous for its all-in-one sandwiches, which include a mound of fresh-cut French fries and vinegar-dressed cole slaw all inside.

The new restaurants also feature burgers, pizza, salads, appetizers, and more.

Circle Centre’s location will be open 7 days a week, with specials after 10 p.m. and late hours at the bar.

Primanti’s expansion in central Indiana will continue into next year, with locations in Greenwood and Avon expected to open in early 2017.
