IndyGo released the latest plans for the next component of the Marion County Transit Plan in a June meeting.
That is the Purple Line, a route from Lawrence, Indiana to downtown Indianapolis. It will run every 10 minutes on weekdays and every 15 minutes on weekends.

According to the Purple Line stakeholder presentation, there are four different lane configurations that are being evaluated for the route.
One is curb running, meaning the buses would use the right lane and the bus lane would be shared with right turns.
Another is left running, meaning the bus lane in the left would be shared with left turns.
The third is median exclusive, meaning regular traffic is on the outside of two exclusive bus lanes.
The last is bi-directional exclusive, which is similar to median exclusive, but there is only one lane for buses.
The Purple Line is scheduled to open in 2020.
There are four upcoming public meetings to discuss stop placement, lane configuration and downtown routing.
