INDIANAPOLIS -- A statue was stolen from an old church building on Indianapolis' east side.

The statue of St. Bernadette was stolen from the former St. Bernadette's Catholic Church at 4901 Fletcher Ave.

The church closed three years ago and was absorbed by a nearby church on Washington Street.

The old church building exists and is still used for community functions.

There is a larger statue of the Virgin Mary right next to where the stolen one used to be.
