INDIANAPOLIS -- If you don't want to give your Christmas-gift money to the big box stores this year, stores at the Mass Ave neighborhood want you do your shopping there.
The Mass Ave Merchants Association is hosting its 13th annual midnight shopping event Friday night.
Many businesses in the area will be staying open until midnight Friday to accommodate the late-night shoppers.
The participating businesses in the area are locally owned and independent.
"The holidays on Mass Ave are a special time of year," Mass Ave Toys owner Natalie Canull said in a release. "We always are excited when people come to spread cheer with us, and that is why we are ringing in the holidays a little earlier than usual."
