INDIANAPOLIS -- An 18-year-old man was hospitalized after he was shot multiple times after opening his door for two strangers Thursday morning.

The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. Thursday at a house near the intersection of Ransdell and East Raymond streets.

A spokesperson with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said he was shot several times in the back and arm.

According to the spokesperson, the victim heard noises outside the front door. Police say he opened up the door and saw two men standing there.

The men asked for someone who did not live at the home. After the victim said he did not know who the person was, the shots were fired, police say.

IMPD is now investigating. If you know anything about this shooting, contact Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
