Power restored to thousands in Hendricks Co. after "loss of transmission" at substations

UPDATE: As of 2 p.m. Tuesday power had been restored to nearly all impacted Hoosiers in Hendricks County.

The exact cause of the loss of power has not been released.

AVON — Nearly 19,000 Hoosiers in Hendricks County are without power Tuesday afternoon after one power company reported a "loss of transmission" into several substations.

Duke Energy reports over 14,000 Hoosiers without power and Hendricks Power is showing over 4,000 outages.

Hendricks Power posted an update at 12:41 p.m. saying "A large portion of Eastern Hendricks County is experiencing a power outage due to a loss of transmission into several substations. Crews are currently working on restoration. Thank you for your patience."
