INDIANAPOLIS -- A downed power pole is causing delays to both vehicle and foot traffic on Indianapolis' north side Thursday morning.
The anchor for a 95-foot pole pole gave way around midnight at 96th Street along the Monon Trail. This caused the line to droop down and the pole to snap off just above the ground.
The line is down nearly half a mile. An IPL worker on the scene said it could be until noon before it gets cleaned up.
The downed pole has blocked vehicle traffic on 96th Street, but the Monon Trail is open, as of 6:30 a.m.
