INDIANAPOLIS -- If you're going to the Indianapolis 500 in May and you have Verizon, you should expect better cell service after new technology was installed Monday morning at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Verizon installed Matsing Ball technology at four different spots inside the grounds.

Each piece of technology weighs more than 600 pounds and has between 36 and 60 antennas. The same technology was used at inaugural events in Washington D.C. and at the Super Bowl in Houston.

Fans at Turn 3 will have their coverage increased by 333 percent on race day, Verizon said.

Last year, fans used 20.8 terabytes at the Indy 500, more than double what was used in 2015.
