Victim in Michigan shootings has Indiana ties

Posted

One of the victims in the Michigan shooting rampage Saturday night has ties to Indiana.

Dorothy Brown, 74, was the head of the Brown County Chamber of Commerce in the late 1980s and early 1990s. She eventually moved back to Battle Creek, Michigan to be closer to her family.

Brown was killed this weekend when she was shot in a car with three of her friends at a Cracker Barrel.

Jason Dalton, the man accused of killing six people and injuring two others in the shooting rampage, went to Eastern Hancock High School for seventh, eighth and ninth grades.

Police say he opened fire on people outside an apartment complex, a car dealership and a restaurant Saturday night.

Investigators say Dalton even picked up Uber fares in between the shootings.

Uber says Dalton passed a background check, and investigators say he had no prior criminal record before the shooting.
