INDIANAPOLIS -- On a day where many first responders were honored and thanked, Indianapolis was able to thank one of its own in a very special way.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Sgt. Chris Wilburn sang the National Anthem at Sunday's Indianapolis Colts game against the Detroit Lions. Sunday was the 15-year anniversary of 9/11.
IMPD posted a video of him singing to its Facebook page.
When Wilburn was introduced to the people in the crowd, they quickly realized the person about to sing was an IMPD officer. Wilburn then received a special round of cheers.
Wilburn is a known singer within the department. He played Jean Valjean a local production of "Les Miserables."

After he finished singing, the person behind the camera asked how he was feeling.
"I feel great," Wilburn said with a smile. "A lot of nerves."
