INDIANAPOLIS -- Using some of the latest crime statistics, a home security website released a study of the safest cities in Indiana.
Based on Safewise.com's evaluation, the safest city in Indiana is Ligonier, in Noble County. That is followed by Zionsville, Indiana, then Berne, Indiana.
The study evaluated the number of reported violent crimes and property crimes per 1,000 people, according to the 2015 FBI Crime Report.
As far as central Indiana cities in the top 20, Carmel was No. 6, Fishers was No. 9, Westfield was No. 12, Brownsburg was No. 16 and Danville was No. 20.
Indianapolis was No. 95, just two spots away from last place.
