INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman was found dead Friday morning on Indianapolis' near-east side.
Police received a call from a passerby around 3:30 a.m. Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the 1400 block of E. Washington Street to find a woman wrapped in a blanket.
She was lying in what appears to be a makeshift shelter in a corner of an abandoned parking lot. Police say it looks like a home area with several belongings.
Homicide detectives and a crime lab unit are investigating to determine how long she's been there.
This was the second body found Friday morning.
A man was found shot and killed near the intersection of 21st Street and Mitthoefer Road.
