INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman was found shot dead near a house on Indianapolis' northeast side early Wednesday morning.

The woman, believed to be in her late 50s, was found on the front lawn of a house on the 3400 block of N. Layman Avenue.

People in the area told police they heard several gunshots just before midnight.

There is no information on suspects or a possible motive.

Less than 30 minutes after the first shooting, another one happened on the northwest side of Indianapolis.
