INDIANAPOLIS -- One woman is dead after she was hit by a vehicle Thursday morning on Indianapolis' southeast side.
She was hit near the intersection of Emerson Avenue and Flintstone Drive.
Police believe the victim was standing in the road, asking an uninvolved driver for directions. As they were talking, a van traveling north on Emerson Avenue struck the woman.
The driver of the van remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
No further information is available. The victim has not been identified.
