INDIANAPOLIS — Voters in Decatur Township approved a new school tax referendum to replace the existing one.
The $5.3 million referendum will go toward transportation, building maintenance, electricity and school safety, documents from the district show.
Here’s how the district says it will break down the money:
· Transportation - $2,825,000
· Building Maintenance - $575,000
· Electricity - $1,400,000
· Safety - $500,000
The new referendum will take effect in 2020 and will last through 2027, but district officials say they plan to end it early.
