DAVIESS COUNTY — The remains of a man missing since 2019 from Daviess County have been identified.

A Silver Alert for Dan Grannan, issued in August 2019, was canceled Wednesday afternoon after his remains, found in September 2020, were positively identified, Daviess County Sheriff Gary Allison said in a press release.

The remains were found in a heavily wooded area near County Road 300 West and Hawkins Creek near Maysville, Allison said. The remains were positively identified by the University of Indianapolis Anthropology Department.

The sheriff's office is still investigating the case. Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 812-254-1060.
