LAFAYETTE — One of Indiana’s largest corn mazes and pumpkin patch has been nominated for a national award.
Exploration Acres has been nominated for the USA Today’s Reader’s Choice Travel award for America’s Best Corn Maze. Last year, USA Today named Exploration Acres as America’s Best Corn Maze.
The 18-acre maze honors America’s armed forces. The 2020 maze recreates the famous Iwo Jima photograph that won the 1945 Pulitzer Prize. The emblems for the US Armed Forces – Marine Corps, Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard – surround the Iwo Jima image.
“This maze is a salute to all those who have bravely served our country in uniform,” said Tim Fitzgerald, President and CEO of Exploration Acres. “We also wanted to honor our healthcare professionals, who are on the frontlines here at home treating COVID-19 patients during the pandemic.”

Due to COVID-19, guests will be required to wear masks for hayrides and when social distancing isn’t possible.
Exploration Acres will open on Sept. 18 and will close Oct. 25.
