Indiana soldier killed in accident in Washington

INDIANAPOLIS — An Evansville, Indiana man was killed in a training accident this week in Washington. 

Spc. Drew Watters, 23, of Evansville, Ind., was killed Nov. 4. 

According to a news release from the 7th Infantry Division, Watters' death is still under investigation. No more information about what happened has been released.

Watters enlisted as an infantryman in 2015. During his service, he was awarded the Army Achievement
Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Ribbon, and the
Army Service Ribbon, according to the 7th Infantry Division.

"We ask that you keep his family, friends, and Lancer Brigade Soldiers affected by his loss in your thoughts and prayers. Spc. Watters was a leader, husband, and father who will be sorely missed by all,” said Col. Jay Miseli.
