Riverlink touts shortened customer wait time in new report

Posted

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. -- More people crossed the three tolled bridges connecting Louisville and Indiana in the last three months than any previous quarter since Riverlink has been monitoring, the company said Thursday.

There were more than 8.4 million crossings on the bridges in April, May and June, the first time quarterly crossings surpassed 8 million.

In its biannual report, Riverlink, the company managing the tolls on the bridges, also touted its improved customer service.

In the April-June timeframe, it took Riverlink an average of 20 seconds to answer a call, the best quarterly average.

Rievrlink has faced criticism in the past for its customer service practices. In June, Riverlink sent a Whitestown man an invoice for a car that wasn't his. In January, the company vowed to make changes amid a slew of customer concerns.

The average speed to answer a call dropped from 4:21 in January to 36 seconds in June.

Since the tolling began in December 2016, more than $131 million has been collected and split between Indiana and Kentucky.
