INDIANAPOLIS -- Doug Boles, the President of Indianapolis Motor Speedway, was involved in a minor crash in an Indianapolis 500 Festival Car Tuesday morning.
Boles was OK after the crash, when the 2018 Chevy Camaro SS was hit near the intersection of 13th and Illinois streets.
Luckily, Boles could joke about the incident afterward.
"Usually, you do it at the race track where they can fix a lot of things very quick," Boles said. "But when you're on Illinois [Street] it takes a little longer. But fortunately I'm OK. The gal in the other car is okay, and we'll move on and get ready for the month of May. ... I'm happy to take one for the team if that means that we're going to have a safe month of May otherwise."
