INDIANAPOLIS -- Race fans set another record in cell phone data used for the 2017 Indianapolis 500 race weekend.

People at Indianapolis Motor Speedway used 26 terabytes of data over the weekend sharing photos and videos. That's enough data to stream video for 8.5 years.

On race day alone, fans used 14 terabytes of data.

In 2016, customers used 20.8 terabytes of data, and they used half of that in 2015.

Trying to help keep the data flowing, Verizon installed Matsing Ball technology at four different spots inside the grounds before race weekend.
