INDIANAPOLIS -- You can get discounted meals in restaurants across the city on Fridays leading up to the Indianapolis 500, and all you have to do is dress like a checkered flag.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is encouraging fans to show their Indianapolis 500 pride by wearing black and white checkered clothes every Friday before the race in a program called #500FashionFridays.
The program is part of IMS' "500 Forward" plan. The plan also encourages fans to host Indy 500 events and is behind the "Greatest City in Racing" graphic on the JW Marriott hotel downtown.
If you wear your checkered clothing, post them on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook with the #500FashionFridays hashtag. You can win prices that are announced Monday.
