INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis is set to welcome the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials back to Lucas Oil Stadium in June 2028. The announcement was made during a conference on Tuesday, with officials from the city and USA Swimming coming together to celebrate this exciting news.

This will mark the ninth time the city has hosted the trials, having previously held the event a total of eight times. In 2024, Lucas Oil Stadium made history by serving as the venue for the Olympic Swim Trials, which were qualifiers for the 2024 Games in Paris, France.

During that event, Indianapolis set the world record for attendance at a swim meet, achieving this remarkable feat twice throughout the week.

"When it comes to hosting sports events," Mayor Hogsett said. "I think we are the best in the entire world."

Bob Vincent, Interim President of U.S. Swimming, reflected on the success of the 2024 trials, noting that it was the first time the event was held in an NFL stadium.

"Our expectations were high, but the city, the stadium, and the fans exceeded them all," Vincent said. "We broke four swim meet attendance records, and the city embraced USA Swimming with open arms."

Vincent emphasized that when it comes to selecting a location for future trials, "All lanes lead to Indy."
