Pacers' Paul George named to Team USA

Posted

INDIANAPOLIS -- It's finally official.

After months of speculation, Paul George has officially been named to the U.S. Men's National Team for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

George was part of the training camp roster for the team in 2014 when he fell awkwardly during a scrimmage in August. He suffered a leg injury, and missed the beginning of the 2014-15 season, but returned April 4.

"I'm really excited to have this opportunity again to represent my country,” George said in a press release. “The injury two years ago has added motivation to want to play again!"

Also on the team are:

  • Carmelo Anthony
  • Harrison Barnes
  • Jimmy Butler
  • DeMarcus Cousins
  • DeMar DeRozan
  • Kevin Durant
  • Draymond Green
  • Kyrie Irving
  • DeAndre Jordan
  • Kyle Lowry
  • Klay Thompson
