INDIANAPOLIS — Two Indianapolis men face preliminary murder charges after a man was found beaten to death over the weekend.
According to preliminary court documents, the two men beat Bryan Ward, 56, after Ward made flirtatious statements toward the neighbor of one of the suspects.
According to that neighbor, all of the men involved appeared to have been drinking. When the man returned to make more flirtatious statements after being told to stop, the two suspects got into a fight with Ward.
The two suspects, according to court documents, then beat Ward in multiple rooms inside and outside of the home, stripped him of his clothing and then drug him out onto the porch.
Court documents say the neighbor called police after they refused to stop.
Arriving officers located Ward suffering from serious injuries and he was taken by emergency personnel to a local hospital. While en route to the hospital, the victim went into cardiac arrest, court docs say.
The next day, Ward was declared brain dead, according to a police report.
