INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after a man was hit and killed on the city's southeast side on .
The man was found dead around 6:15 a.m. near the intersection of Madison and Troy avenues.
In a press release, IMPD said detectives believe the man was walking west on East Troy Avenue on the north side of the street when they were struck from behind by a driver around 3:26 a.m.
The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the man as 38-year-old Enrique Gaspar.
IMPD announced March 11 that Brooke Bowling was arrested in the case. The Marion County Prosecutor's Office charged Bowling with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death or catastrophic injury.
Online court records show Bowling pleaded not guilty. Her bond is set at $40,000 surety and a jury trial is scheduled for June 27.
After hitting the man, detectives believe Bowling continued west on East Troy Avenue towards Madison Avenue.
