ANDERSON — A man was critically injured inside an Anderson gas station Wednesday night when a person them multiple times.
According to Anderson police, the shooting happened at 5:45 p.m. at the Conoco Gas Station at 1002 Nichol Avenue.
Upon arrival of APD officers, a 28-year-old man was located with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.
He was transported to an Indy area hospital in critical condition.
Police say a suspect entered the store and immediately began shooting the man before fleeing the area in a vehicle.
The suspect in the shooting fled the scene. On Thursday, police and SWAT searched a home in the 1500 block of West 4th Street and the suspect was taken into custody.
Bernard M. Stidhum is charged with attempted murder, unlawful carrying of a handgun and unlawful carrying of a handgun with a prior conviction.
Investigators are following multiple leads, according to APD.
