Person fatally shot at American Legion Mall in downtown Indy

INDIANAPOLIS — A person has died after being shot at the American Legion Mall in downtown Indy.

IMPD officers were called to the intersection of Walnut Street and Pennsylvania Street on the report of a person shot just before 7 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, later identified as 52-year old Anthony Drummer, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to IMPD, a person was detained at the scene and taken to an IMPD facility for questioning.

That person, identified as 30-year-old Howard Moffitt, was arrested Thursday evening for his role in the fatal shooting. He was charged with murder.

The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make the final charging decision.
