NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- Noblesville is proposing to build a $15 million youth sports facility for its community, eventually housing basketball and volleyball tournaments, city officials announced Tuesday.
The city is partnering with Klipsch-Card Athletic Facilities for the 130,000-square-foot facility.
It would be built at Finch Creek Park on Boden Road, and will include the following features:
- Five hardwood courts
- 75,000 feet of indoor turf
- A 10,000-square-foot physical therapy office
- An indoor/outdoor concession area
- Second-floor mezzanine balcony
- High-definition cameras
The facility, called the Noblesville Fieldhouse, is expected to break ground in spring 2017, if the proposal passes.

“We love our youth sports in Noblesville, but we’ve heard time and again how they need more room, more courts, more fields and more practice time. And we’ve listened,” said Noblesville Mayor John Ditslear. “With Council’s approval, we can fulfill a need that’s currently not met for local youth sports in our community, and drive greater tourism spending in Hamilton County."
To fund the project, Noblesville would contribute $600,000 per year from the facility's property taxes and rental fees, offset by the sale of 10 acres of land for $1 million. Noblesville would also contribute a maximum of $200,000 annually.
Mayor John Ditslear said that cost would go down as the facility generates more money.
About 350 part-time workers and 40 full-time workers would be hired for the facility.
The Noblesville Common Council will consider the city’s proposal at its Dec. 6 meeting.
