INDIANAPOLIS -- It had been a long time since the Indianapolis Colts were shut out in a regular season game.

On Sunday, the Colts lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 27-0, the first regular season shutout in nearly 24 years.

It was the first shutout at all since the team lost to the New York Jets in a playoff game in 2003, and the first regular season shutout since Dec. 26, 1993. In the 1993 game, Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe threw two touchdowns, and Colts quarterback Jeff George completed 13-of-25 passes.

What else was happening the last time the Colts were shut out in the regular season?

  • The top song was Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You."
  • The top movie was "The Pelican Brief," starring Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington.
  • Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri, the NFL's oldest player, was in college at South Dakota State University.
  • Quarterback Andrew Luck was 4 years old.
  • Michael Jordan had won his third of six NBA Championships.
  • Emerson Fittipaldi won the Indianapolis 500, drinking orange juice instead of milk in Victory Lane.
  • Gas cost $1.01 per gallon.
  • "Cheers" had just aired its series finale and "Seinfeld" was in its fifth season.
  • "Got Milk" had just started its advertising run.
  • Donald Trump had been married to Marla Maples for six days.
  • Bill Clinton became the first Democrat in the White House in a dozen years.
  • Somebody born on that day could have graduated from college by now.
