INDIANAPOLIS — A person was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon in a stabbing outside the City Market in Downtown Indianapolis.

According to information from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the stabbing occurred at about noon on the Market Street side of the building.

A victim was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.

Police said the stabbing is believed to be the result of an argument in which the suspect believed the victim stole something from him.

The suspect was arrested while still armed with a knife and charged with aggravated battery and resisting law enforcement.

The incident remains under investigation, IMPD said.
