INDIANAPOLIS — A McDonald's employee was shot Tuesday afternoon in a bathroom on the east side restaurant, police say.

This is near the intersection of Brookville and South Franklin roads.
"There was some type of altercation and the employee was injured," IMPD Lt. Shane Foley said in an email.
The employee was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. The employee's condition was never released.
Friday, police announced a 17-year-old male had been arrested for his alleged role in the shooting. The teen is facing preliminary charges of attempted robbery with a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon, battery with injury and unlawful carrying of a handgun.
Due to the suspect's age, police have not released an identity at this time.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make a final determination on charges.
