INDIANAPOLIS — Authorities say the last known location of Carmel woman who has been missing for more than two weeks was in Georgia, not Indiana, contrary to what her husband told police in a missing person report.
Ciera Locklair Breland's husband told Carmel police she was last seen Feb. 25 in the 14400 block of Baldwin Lane in Carmel. Her husband reported her missing to Carmel police on Feb. 26.
But on Thursday, Carmel police said her last known location was confirmed as the 10500 block of Highgate Manor Court in Johns Creek, Georgia. She was there at 7:17 p.m. Feb. 24, police said.
Her cousin told a Georgia television station that his family fears the worst more than two weeks after her disappearance.
“It’s been really hard. I really don’t think anybody knows how to deal with it,” Luke Locklair said in an interview with WSB in Atlanta. “We never expected this kind of thing to happen to our family.”
Breland's husband was named a person of interest in the case on March 2. He has not been criminally charged, but he was arrested in Carmel on an unrelated warrant out of Coweta County, Georgia.
Federal Bureau of Investigation offices in Indianapolis and Atlanta are assisting police departments in Carmel and Johns Creek, Georgia, with the investigation.

“We've got the FBI, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation involved. There's a long distance to cover between Georgia and Indiana, so they're helping us with resources," Deb Kalish, communications Lt. for the Johns Creek Police Department, said.
“She's got a five-month-old baby, and that's really tough. Moms don't usually walk out on their five-month-old babies," Kalish said. "We're still looking for her, following every lead, as well as Carmel Police Department. They are still doing the same thing up there.”
Locklair said his family looks up to Ciera, who worked as a lawyer in Atlanta. Now, they are afraid for her as the search continues.
“She would’ve reached out by now,” he said. “She’s a really smart girl.”
Locklair added in the interview that his family noticed a “dramatic” change in his cousin recently and she had talked about returning to Georgia without her husband.
“Actually had her stuff packed to move back in,” Locklair said.
Locklair said Ciera never would have stayed away from her five-month-old baby and dog named Baker.
“Baker was like her baby before she even had a baby,” Locklair said. “She treated that dog like he was a baby.”
