INDIANAPOLIS — Three people were shot and one died in a shooting near a church Thursday afternoon on the city's north side, police say.
Officers found the victims wounded while responding just after 1:30 p.m. to the intersection of East 29th Street and East Fall Creek Parkway North Drive, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
IMPD Sgt. Genae Cook said a landscaping crew was meeting someone at a church lot for something unrelated to the church. At some point, a conflict broke out and three people fired weapons.
Walter Goodloe, 61, was killed in the shooting, according to the Marion County Coroner's Office.
The altercation may have stemmed from an employment disagreement.
Everyone involved was either taken in for questioning or to a hospital for treatment, Cook said.
IMPD asked that anyone with more information contact Detective Dustin Keedy at 317-327-3475 or Dustin.Keedy@indy.gov. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477 (TIPS) or online.
This is a developing story.
