INDIANAPOLIS — Around 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday, IMPD and emergency crews were called to the scene of a water rescue in the 2900 block of Bluff Road.
Upon arrival, IFD dive team members found a deceased adult male near the shore of the body of water.
After hours of searches from dive members from IFD and the Department of Natural Resources, a car was located at the bottom of the body of water and three children were located inside the car, according to IMPD Assistant Chief Chris Bailey.
The pond is where many family and friends had been searching for Kyle Moorman, 27, and his three children, according to the family.
Moorman was last seen with his young children about 11 p.m. last Wednesday in the 1000 block of South Sherman Drive.
Relatives say he went fishing and never returned. The family also noted he didn't bring any extra clothes or diapers.
IMPD previously reported that Moorman was likely with his 1-year-old Kyran Holland, 2-year-old Kyannah Holland and 5-year-old Kyle Moorman II.
The family reported that Moorman frequently fishes there. But they're not sure exactly where he was going the day he and the kids took off together.
IMPD was unable to confirm the identities of those found but acknowledged the commonality between those found and the missing Moorman family. The car pulled from the scene matched the description of the car the Moorman family was with, according to IMPD.
"Regardless of the circumstances, we know a man and three young kids are dead tonight," Bailey said. "We don't know why and we don't know how."
Bailey continued.
"I guarantee you, the detectives that are working behind me will do everything they can to provide answers to this family and to the community."
The Marion County Coroner's Office will announce the identities of those found at a later time.
This is a developing story.
