WRTV meteorologist Kyle Mounce is thrilled to be home, and forecasting the weather in Indiana. Growing up in Avon, he knows just how crazy our weather can be. It's the constant change, and impact on everything we do, that's responsible for Kyle's fascination with the weather.
Kyle joined the WRTV StormTeam in May of 2013, but actually started with WRTV all the way back in 2003. That's when he signed on as a volunteer for Call6. Shortly thereafter, Kyle began learning from chief meteorologist Kevin Gregory as a weather intern.
Before jumping in front of the camera, Kyle completed his meteorology studies with Mississippi State University. He also holds a degree in communication studies from Indiana University.
In 2005, Kyle began bringing viewers in the Quad Cities of Illinois and Iowa accurate forecasts to help them plan their day. After two years of harsh winters, he moved south to Paducah, Kentucky and WPSD-TV. During his more than five year stay in western Kentucky, Kyle covered historic flooding, an ice storm and everything in between.
Kyle's forecasts hold the seal of approval from both the AMS (American Meteorological Society) and NWA (National Weather Association).
When the weather is calm, you'll likely find Kyle enjoying the many sights and activities Central Indiana has to offer with his family, friends and dog Cali. No matter what he's doing, he always has one eye on the weather.
